DTRF History and Evolution

DGFI-TUM has been acting as one of the three ITRS Combination Centers of the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service (IERS) since 2001. The figure below displays the evolution of the three latest DTRF solutions since DTRF2008.

The two most important innovations from DTRF2014 to DTRF2020 in terms of the DTRF Combination Strategy are:

  • the reduction the full non-tidal loading signal resulting from atmospheric, hydrological and oceanic non-tidal mass load changes (data are provided by IERS GGFC)
  • the consideration of post-seismic deformation for stations affected by earthquakes
