DTRF2020 Input Data

Space-geodetic techniques

The space-geodetic techniques contributing to the realization of ITRS are

  • Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI),
  • Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR),
  • Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and
  • Doppler Orbitography and Radiopositioning Integrated by Satellite (DORIS).
In preparation of the ITRS 2020 realization, the full history observation data of the four techniques was reprocessed by the corresponding IAG services of the space-geodetic techniques, the International VLBI Service (IVS) the International Laser Ranging Services (ILRS) the International GNSS Service (IGS) and the International DORIS Service (IDS).

Non-tidal loading coefficients

provided by IERS Global Geophysical Fluid Centre, GGFC

  • including atmospheric, hydrological and oceanic loading coefficients
  • station-wise loading coefficient time series related to the center of mass (CM)                                                               of the Earth, temporal resolution: 3h
  • loading coefficients are based on the following models, see also GGFC website
    • ERA5 IB: Atmospheric loading with IB assumption from ERA5
    • TUGO-m: Oceanic loading
    • ERA5 hydro: Hydrological loading (soil-moisture + snow) from ERA5
